Screening Test Technician (STT) Class Schedule

(Device Proficiency Training with Qualified Monitor/Instructor)

Certified Training Solutions offers periodic LIVE CLASSES (please see dates below) with qualified instructors at locations around the U.S. We also offer WEBCAM TRAINING (register below) for your convenience. These classes allow the STT student to become fully qualified to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) alcohol tests on their testing device (select devices only – please contact us prior to purchasing STT training to ensure that we have Trainers available on your particular device).

Our live and webcam proficiency classes cover the 2nd component of DOT-required Screening Test Technician training -- the device/instrument proficiency training. After completing the online qualification (procedures) training, the STT student must also demonstrate their proficiency in conducting DOT alcohol screening tests on their specific testing device by completing five (5) mock consecutive, error-free alcohol tests under the observation of a qualified Trainer. Students successfully completing the live training are awarded a Certificate documenting their proficiency in using their Screening Device for DOT alcohol screening tests.  Once the student has successfully completed both the online Procedures Training and the Device/Instrument Proficiency Training, they are fully qualified to perform DOT alcohol screening tests. Device proficiency training should immediately follow the online procedures training (no longer than 30 days later).

We offer live and webcam training on select screening test devices only. Please contact us prior to purchasing STT training to ensure that we have Trainers on your particular device and to verify which computer-based training course will meet your needs.  The DOT rules allow STTs to use only devices listed on NHTSA's Conforming Products List. To verify that your device is listed/approved, you may find the NHTSA List here.

Course Details - Course length: 4 hours - Course fee: $219.00*
*This fee is for the live training class (proficiency demonstration only) and does not include the online training course. Students must purchase the online training course separately and complete it prior to their live (face-to-face) or webcam instrument proficiency training class. 
Note: Certified Training Solutions reserves the right to cancel or change class dates if minimum class size is not met. In the event we cancel a class, a full refund for the live class will be provided.
