DOT rules require that a qualified monitor* must personally witness and evaluate the collector’s performance and attest in writing that the collector’s mock collections were error-free. Monitors typically charge a fee for this service.
A FREE form and full instructions are included in this course for you to properly document your five mock collections with your monitor after completion of this portion of the training. For your convenience, the course also includes a FREE certificate for the monitor to complete and sign after they have witnessed your mock collections.
Important: The fee for our online specimen collector course does not include a monitor’s services.
(You must provide/find your own monitor for the required proficiency demonstration to complete your training.) Ultimately, it is your responsibility to find and provide your own Monitor to complete the 2nd part of your qualification training, and we do not guarantee that we will able to provide a monitor for you. You may register for one of our live or Webcam proficiency demonstration classes with a qualified monitor. Please click here for a list of upcoming locations and dates or to register for webcam or live training.* Who can act as a Monitor (Who is a qualified monitor)?
According to the DOT rules, the monitor “must be a qualified collector who has demonstrated necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities by —
(i) Regularly conducting DOT drug test collections for a period of at least a year;
(ii) Conducting collector training under this part for a year; or
(iii) Successfully completing a “train the trainer” course.”
Hint: Webcam training is the quickest and most efficient way to get your training completed (additional fees apply). Contact us at 307-640-5859 to inquire.
