COURSE OUTLINE ~ This informative online course consists of three sections:

  1. The first section of this course introduces you to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Rules regarding drug and alcohol testing.  Section 1 includes the terminology you will need to know to fully understand the FMCSA testing process, requirements, and reasons for testing. The learner is introduced to the FMCSA’s 49 CFR Part 382 Rules (drug & alcohol testing Regulations).
  2. The 2nd section of this course is focused specifically on post-accident testing requirements under the FMCSA Part 382 Regulations.  Section 2 features an Interactive Simulation with characters and allows the learner to make decisions in simulated ‘real life’ post-accident situations to gauge their grasp of the information and Regulations.
  3. The final (3rd) section of this course explores the additional “test reasons” under the Federal Regulations (i.e. Pre-employment, Random, Reasonable Suspicion, Return-to-duty, and Follow-up).  You will learn when and how each of these additional Test Reasons are utilized, according to the Federal Regulations.
